This is from an interview with "skin-obsessed" Kristin Perrotta, Allure executive editor. She describes what works for her in Allure's Insider's Guide Fall 2012.
1. Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least 50. She loves Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Daily Sunblock 50 ($12.99) "because it's so light and powerful."
2. Apply an antioxidant cream under sunscreen and at night with CoffeeBerry, idebenone, or green tea. She uses RevaleSkin Night Cream ($120) which has CoffeeBerry.
3. Use a lightening lotion to fade dark spots at night 20 minutes before your moisturizer to give it time to work. She uses Elure Advanced Skin Lightening Lotion ($150). "This stuff really works."
4. Don't go to bed without applying a retinoid. She uses RoC Retinol Correction Deep Wrinkle Night Cream ($22.99). Dilute with a little plain moisturizer around the eyes to avoid irritation.
5. Exfoliate every other night with a glycolic acid peel. She likes Avon Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel ($25) "because it's easy to use and brightens skin-fast."
6. Sometimes she gets Botox around eyes and forehead.
