Quick and non-invasive techniques to spot treat fat are becoming more and more common. Thank goodness! These are some methods being used:
Zerona, great for trouble spots you can't shake off. Zerona uses low-level lasers to create a temporary hole in fat cells so what's inside can leak out. It's safer than lipo and pain-free. Liposonix "uses ultrasound energy to dissolve small areas of fat," says Paul Jarrod Frank M.D., a cosmetics dermatologist in NYC. Some bruising or redness, which can last up to a week, may result. Cost: Up to $5,000
Zeltiq's Cool Sculpting freezes your fat between two cold panels, for up to two hours per session, destroying fat cells. Once again, fat can come back if you don't monitor your diet. Cost: $750
